Coach
Mark was born & raised in Peekskill, NY. He began his basketball playing career under NY State Hall of Fame Coach Louis Panzanarro, where he was a 4-Year Letterman & 3-Year starter. He won 3 State Titles (2 as a player, 1 as an Assistant Coach playing alongside former NBA #1 Pick Elton Brand during freshman & sophomore years. Mark went on to play for Bob Campbell at Western Connecticut State University and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" during freshman campaign. At WCSU, Mark would win two consecutive conference titles in 2003 & 2004. He received his degree in Business Marketing with a Minor in Communication.
In 2004, he began coaching with Peekskill High School as an Assistant Coach on the school's Varsity Basketball Team. He was granted the opportunity to become the Head JV Coach in 2005 as while also maintaing his position as Varsity Assistant. During the Spring of 2005, Mark joined the Westchester Hawks AAU Program as an assistant. He became the Head Coach of the 17u in 2009 and remained so until 2012. During his tenure as 17U Coach, Mark helped several players obtain athletic scholarships to various colleges and universities.
Mark joined the PSA coaching staff in the Spring of 2013. In that time, he has become a great asset to the program helping in a variety of facets. He has brought a wealth of invaluable basketball intelligence to the program as well as a passion for mentorship and leadership development. When he is not with the program, Mark is a devoted father of two daughters, Aanya-Lee Carter & Arianna Carter. He has been employed with the New York Power Authority in White Plains, NY as a Configuration Analyst since 2006.
